Four Tips for Google Adwords Beginner

If you're new on using Google Adwords to generate targeted traffic and make money online, here are four tips for you to make your AdWords campaign effective:

1) Make the Most out of Keyword Research Tools

There are both free and paid tools you can use to help you find the most profitable keywords within your niche. As a beginner, it is recommended for you to settle for free ones and then go for the more extensive paid tools once your campaign becomes more profitable.

2) Always Group Similar Keywords

Never combine different keywords into one advertisement group. You need to make sure that all keywords within one ad group are similar. For example, "how to make money blogging" and "make money blogging" should be grouped together but "blog profits" should not be placed in the same group. Grouping your ads properly is crucial to your Google Adwords success.

3) Include Keywords in your Copy

The most profitable keywords you find through keyword research tools should be included in your copy. Just be sure that you use the right keywords in your copy for each ad group that you have. Although your ad will surely appear in whatever search results you've paid for, making use of the keywords in your ad will allow for lower CPC and a higher advertisement position. Your ad will also be more visible as keywords in searches are displayed in bold.

4) Set your Daily Budget

Make sure you set your daily budget to a reasonable amount. Don't set it too high that you may end up overspending. Don't set it too low either as you may not achieve ideal results. Keep in mind that you are still experimenting at this stage. Once you find the most profitable strategies for your own Google Adwords campaign, you can start slowly increasing your daily budget.

These are four tips you need to keep in mind when starting out with Google Adwords. Follow them and you won't have to put up with the costs of trial and error as you can immediately achieve success will Google Adwords.

Make Money With Adsense

If you want to build residual income on the internet you should look into Google AdSense. The opportunities out there to make money with AdSense offer beginners the best change of building a passive stream of income from the internet. Perhaps the best part about learning to build residual income with AdSense is you can start off small by writing articles on website's that already have prominent search engine placement due to their high page rank, inbound links, and large number of pages.

The disadvantage to this is that all of these article websites that pay members are revenue sharing systems. You get to publish articles on their website that will achieve high search engine rankings because that website is an authority. Then after you get a good understanding of this business model you learn how to build your own website in which you do not have to share revenue.

This is basically article distribution. The only difference is you are writing articles for money instead of links to your website. Websites that you can write articles on and get paid for it are referred to commonly on the web as "paid to write" websites. These types of websites make it easy to build nice looking articles with little to no HTML skills. Then those pages will be indexed by search engines, especially Google and yahoo. They deliver free traffic to your articles and when someone clicks on the ads you get paid for it.

Eventually you can upgrade to building your own website. I did this myself. I started out on Hubpages where you can write articles that get lots of page views. Those articles have Google AdSense ads on them and earn money when search engines deliver free targeted visitors to click on those ads. This is how you make money with AdSense without your own website just to get the hang of it. It wont take long to realize that this business model is quite effective in building residual income and worth learning before you take the time to learn site building.

Once you learn how how to build a search engine friendly website you can use AdSense to create multiple streams of income. The type of AdSense you use on paid article sites is called "AdSense for content". It is for monetizing content pages hints the name. You can also place AdSense ads on RSS feeds, site search results, mobile webpages, and domains. When you have your own website built you will have all these options since you can easily create a site search engine using Google's tools, build a RSS Feed with Feedburner, convert your pages into mobile ones, and you will of course have tons of content pages to place AdSense ads.

Once you complete this you just let your website run on autopilot. You may want to add some things that will increase the amount of residual income that you make such as an autoresponder ecourse that you either charge money for or contains affiliate links that will earn you commissions on products if you do not have your own. Both options are good money makers. Another thing you can do to increase your amount of residual income is incorporate user generated content. You do this by buying software that you can use on your site that will allow site visitors to create their own pages within your site.

Soon your site will double in pages. There is one product that stands alone in this niche. It is called Content 2.0. It is a software product offered by SiteSell for $100 a year. It easily allows site visitors to create their own content pages that will get indexed by the search engines and return significant traffic to your site. The best part is you can make money with AdSense using this product. On each user generated content page small discrete AdSense link units appear. They earn you substantial money and do not appear to be spammy due the little amount of space they take up.

MY Google Rankings Drop Gradually

This blog, MoneyMakerInfo.blogspot.com uses to rank #1 for a numbers of my primary keyword phrases in Google below:

  • Make Money Online
  • Making Money Online
  • Make Money
  • Making Money
  • How to Make Money
  • Earn Money Online
  • Money Maker
  • How to Earn Money Online
But, for the past 3 months I have experienced several times my Google rankings drop. The keyword phrases 'earn money online' was first taken down from no.1 to no.2 and it never go back to no.1.

And then the same happened to my other keyword phrases 'make money online' as well. It fell from no.1 to no.2 also. The drop didn't affect my traffic level since I still no.1 for this keyword phrases in Google other countries such Google.ca, Google.in, Google.com.au and etc.

My Google rankings didn't stop here. Today when I check my Google positions, I found that my Google rankings in a few of other keywords went down also. The keywords phrases are 'how to make money' and 'money maker'. Both rankings went down from #1 to #2. Besides that my top positions in Google other countries have got busted too. What a bad day I have.

But fortunately, my traffic level isn't seriously affected. The Google traffic I get today is only a few percent lower than usual and my daily earning from this blog is just slightly lesser than usual.

I have no idea what's the reason causes this drop. May be Google has done another ranking algorithm update causing my blog down or may be it is a little penalization from Google to me for climbing too high. Whatever reason is it, I'm optimistic with my Google positions. I guess this is just another Google ranking fluctuation that happen to many site and blog also. I think I will get back my no.1 rankings when another Google ranking fluctuation occurs.

How to Use Google to Find a Profitable Niche Market

Google is the biggest search engine you may have used when searching for information on the Internet. But have you ever used Google for more than just finding information you need? If not, then you are missing out on some very good tools provided that can make searching the Internet not only more effective, but also fun.

One of the best places to begin is by finding out which products are popular today. On Google’s homepage, click ‘more’ located in left-hand corner. Click ‘products’ and you will see a list of products. You can begin your search for niche markets here. Compare what’s on your list to see if there are any categories that match. If not, don’t give up; hold on to your list as you can use these topics in other searches. Begin by clicking on topics that interest you. These topics may also be easier to create products for later on because you have an interest in them.

Keep in mind that for now, you are simply browsing the Internet looking for popular items that people are searching for. Listed below are other tools to use when searching for niche markets.

Google Directory
When you want to narrow down a topic, the Google directory is a good place to begin. To get to the directory, go to http://www.google.com/dirhp. You will be given a list of popular categories to search that will help you narrow down your topic. Pull out your list and begin your search. Each category has sub-categories to search. Eventually, you will reach a page that contains a list of websites where you can find additional information. If there are few websites listed, this is a good indication that you have found a profitable niche because the niches needs are not being met.

Google Sets
If you are having difficulty narrowing down your topic or you want to generate more categories from a larger topic, use Google sets. This is a tool that allows you to create a set of like items that you can search from. Visit http://labs.google.com/sets to use this tool.

This is a good tool to use when brainstorming for niche markets as well. After a set has been created, you can search through websites that contain the information.

Google Zeitgeist
This tool is used to help you generate niche ideas or to see how popular the topics on your list are. You can search in the US or around the world if you choose. While this is tool will only give you an idea of how popular a trend is becoming, it is handy when beginning your research.

Google Trends
If you have a few topics that have gained exposure in the past few months, you will want to check out their popularity to see if it will continue to be popular a few weeks or months from now. Google trends is a tool that can give you a better idea of how many people have been searching for a topic over a certain amount of time. You can track the progress of any topic you like to see if the trend will continue of if it will die down. Trends on the downside are usually not worth pursuing.

Visit Google Labs, http://labs.google.com/, to see more search options and tools that are available. While some of the tools are experiments at the moment, you will find some that are very useful in your search for profitable niche markets.

Google Pro Kit is a Big Scam

Firstly, Google Pro Kit program has nothing to do with Google. The owner of this money making program just name it to make it interesting. The Google Pro Kit also called Internet Income Pro Kit.

I signed up to promote Google Pro Kit program few days ago through a quality affiliate network called PepPerJam affiliate Network. The Google Pro Kit affiliate program is very attractive. It has become one of the top performers in PepPerJam which means a lot of web publishers and bloggers have joined it , promoted it widely on the Internet and made good money with it. The web publishers will get paid $22 for each qualified lead generated for Google Pro Kit.

Getting a qualified lead from Google Pro Kit is pretty simple. Any US or Canada visitor who fill out their personal details in the Google Pro Kit lead page and pay $3.88 to have the free Google Pro Kit mail to them will be counted as a qualified lead. With this easy action, the web publishers will earn $22.

So, What's the problem?

Firstly they don't send the kit. A lot of people have complained about this. Secondly, they will charge you $72.21 after seven day and you will probably not aware of it. This is the terrible part.

When you sign up for the free kit to mail to your address, you will also be entered into a free seven days trial membership which will charge $72.21 to your credit card after 7 days. The visitors have complained that nothing about the $72.21 membership fee was mentioned during the sign up process.

But in the Google Pro Kit sign up page, they do placed a 'Term & Conditions' link at the bottom. The Term & Conditions page has loads of content and in a section of the content, they do have described about the $72.21 membership fee and clearly stated that it is not refundable after charged.

So, this is how they trick people. You wouldn't know exactly what you are actually signing up for unless only if you click the Term & Conditions link that 'hide' at the bottom of the sign up page and carefully read it.

As they are paying so well to the web publishers. Many publishers have widely promoted it, so stay away if you see this Google Pro Kit offer on the Internet.

The owner of Google Pro Kit is very clever, he has made the web publishers thought that it is a legit program that they can promote to make money. So many has joined it. Me as a blogger has also joined and promoted this program for two days. I placed a Google pro kit ad on this blog for the past two days. But, after I find out the truth about this program few hours ago, I removed the Google Pro Kit ad completely on this blog.

But, a bad news to me is that I have generated two leads for Google Pro Kit in past two days, earning me $44. I have no idea who has signed up through the ad on this blog. If you are the one, please call 1-888-657-8585 immediately to cancel the $72.21 membership they have entered for you. Hope you come back to visit my blog and read this post.

I can pay you back the shipping if you request for. I can even pay you the $22 commission I have earned as a apology for promoting a problem program to you. But, please send some proofs to me when you like to claim the money.

Google Pro Kit affiliate program no doubt is a great program for web publishers to make money online. I think I can make over one thousand dollar monthly if I continue to promote Google Pro Kit on this blog. But, unfortunately, it is a scam.

Luckily I managed to find out the truth about this program after two days I promoted it and save me from becoming a blogger that put people into a big scam program.

Google AdSense Tips: Formatting Your Content Looks like AdSense Ads is Disallowed

Well, it was a bad news to me. It was a warning from Google AdSense team. They said when they were reviewing my AdSense account they found violations of AdSense policies on my pages such as http://moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com. They then further explained that I cannot implement AdSense ads in a manner that disguises the ads such as formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like games or forum threads. Additionally, images cannot be placed close to the ads. And I was given 3 days to make the necessary changes. If I choose not to make the changes I will no long allowed to display AdSense ads but my account will still remain active.

After finished reading the email, I really feeling worry and confuse. How come I can against so many policies since I have read their policies and add the Adsense ads carefully? This made me headache a while.

I browsed my own pages to find out what really went wrong. I thought back what types of content pages I have created. Fortunately, I managed to figure out and conclude that the violation of AdSense policies is due to some of my content pages formatted to be look similar to AdSense ads.

Once I found out this, I immediately started checking all my pages. I clicked on my own archive pages to review each post and make changes to the posts that disallowed by Google. There are total of 772 posts I have to review and it took about ten hours to review all the blog pages and modify the problem pages. My head is spinning doing all these works.

After three days, I saw my AdSense ads still appear on my pages. So, Google has probably satisfied with the changes I have made and let me continue to make money with AdSense.

Why I'm telling you this?

I hope that you didn't make the same mistake just like I did when implementing AdSense ads on your site and blog to make money online. It is painful to make changes especially if your site have hundreds of pages. It is a tedious work to check back each of your pages.

So, don't format your neighboring content look like AdSense. Google actually spend the time to check AdSense publisher accounts. I think they are checking each publisher account, just don't know whether they are doing the checking manually or automatically.

Google Keyword Tool Can Help you Make Money Online

Google isn't just a quality search engine. It also offers a number of free tools and services for the Internet users around the world. These free tools and services of Google were designed to help online users and meet the different needs of them. There is a Google Map to help you if you need to find a location. There is also a Google Chrome that will give you better browse experience when visiting websites. If you need a mini website, you can use Google Page Creator to build one.....

What about making money online with Internet marketing, is there any free tool of Google that can help? Yes, there is one. It is called Google Keyword Tool.

How Google Keyword Tool can help?

Research Niche Market
Whenever you want to start a new website or blog, you will want to have an idea of the size of the niche or the popularity of the topic that you are going to focus on. Google Keyword Tool is just right to help you in this. By typing in a general keyword of your niche or topic, the tool will generate a long list of keywords relevant to your niche. Each keyword will show an estimated monthly search volume. Looking at the estimated search volume on your keywords, you can roughly know the size of your niche or the popularity of your topic. This can help you make sure that you aren't entering into a niche that is too small which has not much money you can make.

Search Engine Optimization
A website can rank top 10 in Google for several keywords that are related to each other at the same time to gain load of free organic traffic from Google. To achieve that, you must first optimize the homepage of your website for the main keywords you want to rank for in Google. By referring the list of keywords you generated from Google Keyword tool, you will be able to make the right decision on what main keywords you should use for your homepage. Of course, you will choose two to four keywords that have high search volume for search engine optimization on your homepage.

Improve Your Article Marketing Effectiveness
Article marketing is a free method of generating traffic to website or blog and it can be used for long term. So, you probably would have chosen article marketing as one of your main methods for marketing your website or online business to generate income.

When you are writing article for publication on the article directories, it is always good to include the relevant long tail keyword into your article content or use the long tail keyword as the title of your article to attract search engine traffic. With Google Keyword Tool, you can create a list of long tail keywords related to your website, then write an article for each long tail keyword and publish them on the large article directories such as Ezinearticles.com, Articledashboard.com, SearchWarp.com, Isnare.com, etc.

Google will soon pick up your article pages in these directories and possibly will place some of your article pages on top 10 for some of the long tail keywords you selected. This way your article will search engine traffic often. And since your articles have been optimized to promote your website or business, those article pages will constantly direct the search engine traffic to your website, letting you enjoy more free search traffic which can boost your online revenue.

Using Google Analytics to Increase Your AdSense Income

The quality free website tracking tool, Google Analytics is now integrated with AdSense. This function started to roll out by Google last week. It will soon be available to all the AdSense publishers.

Integrating your AdSense account with a new or existing Analytics account will allow you to get access to more in-depth data so that you can make better decision on improving your AdSense performance.

A great feature that I think it will effectively help publishers to make more money from AdSense is the 'Referring sites' report. It will tell you what source of traffic that earns you the most AdSense revenue. By knowing the sources of traffic that work well with AdSense, you can concentrate on getting the traffic from those sources and see your AdSense income goes up from time to time.

I think this feature is going to be very useful to web publishers especially those bloggers who get lot of traffic and done proper AdSense optimization but still make little AdSense revenue. The reason might be they are not getting the types of traffic good for converting into AdSense. Looking at the data in 'Referring sites' feature, there will know what to do to improve their AdSense performance.

There are also a few other features that can help you.

As the AdSense integration hasn't rolled out fully, you wouldn't be able to have access immediately to this function yet. But keep checking your account for an invitation link. Once you saw the link, You can click it to sign up for starting testing this function.

Google Knol will Help You Make Money Online

Google officially launched a new web authoring tool called Knol on Jul 23. Google Knol is free and opened to everyone. It is a content sharing network where you can write and publish articles in most of the topics. Each article page or content page you created is called a Knol.

Publishing a Knol is quite similar to publishing a blog post except the tone is more formal. You can insert related picture or image to your Knol and once your Knol created, readers are allowed to comment and rate your article in the Knol.

What Benefits You'll Gain from Publishing Google Knols?

AdSense Ads is Allowed in Knols

Google said that the authors can choose to include AdSense ads in all their Knols. So, each of your Knols that attract traffic may earn you some AdSense ad revenue. But, if you are actively creating Knols that share useful content, it is possible to earn a nice AdSense income every month as you will have more Knols gaining traffic.

Get Free Google Traffic
The Google knol homepage http://knol.google.com gained thousands of quality backlinks in less than a week. It is expected that it will gain decent of backlinks just like the other two content sharing networks, Hubpages and Squidoo. Because of the huge amount of backlinks Hubpages and Squidoo have gained, they are now getting million of visitors from search engines like Google and Yahoo every month (I believe most are from Google).

This will happen to Google Knol as well. Google Knol will soon gain huge amount of backlinks and many of the Knols created by different authors will start ranking high on Google search engine and enjoy free Google traffic. Those who manage to get their knols ranked on a competitive keyword will receive steady traffic. They can include links in their Knols to direct these Google traffic to their website or blog or choose to monetize their Knols with AdSense ads so that these Google traffic can be converted into AdSense revenue.

Google Knol has their own content policy and term of service. You should read and understand them before creating a Knol to publishing your content. Google doesn’t allow spamming, any Knol that against their policy will be deleted.

Money Maker Info Blog Lost Google Rankings about 24 Hours

When I checked my AdSense stat yesterday, I found that my page view and AdSense earning dropped dramatically. So, my first guest was that, this blog must have been experienced a serious drop of traffic. I then went to Google to check the keyword rankings for this blog and found that I lost my no.1 rankings for most of my targeted keywords. Oh my god, Google must have penalized my blog, I said.

But, fortunately today Google sent my blog back to the original top rankings which makes me excited but a little confuse now.

It is so true that Google's ranking Algorithm is very complicated. I have learned and experienced Google search engine optimization for more than a year. I still know not much about how Google is ranking websites. Yes, getting top on Google is about building relevant and quality backlinks; and proper keyword optimizations on your webpage such as Meta title and Meta description tags.

A website that has done well on these things may achieve first page on Google for the main keywords the site has targeted. But Google is smart and monitoring websites closely. A website that reaches top rankings isn't always staying top for long. Google will keep on changing their ranking algorithm, evaluating websites on a regular basis (possible daily) and doing updates. As a result, many webmasters and bloggers have a hard time maintaining their top rankings. Even, some of them have built their backlinks consistently and updated their sites with fresh content, but they still fail to maintain their site rankings when their sites reach certain ages. All these make Google a unique search engine that is unpredictable.

Ranking Drop is My Nightmare
When I first found that my site disappeared on Google's first page for most of the major keywords. I didn't shock at all as I have often seen Google drop websites and got the idea that it could happen to any website. But I feel sad and uncomfortable on this sudden drop; and didn't sleep well yesterday night. Now, I have not idea if this is a warning to Money Maker Info that Google will soon penalize it or is just another Google update that causes temporarily disappear. But one thing for sure is that I will always work on it to keep my Google rankings. Google has sent tons of free traffic to my blog and helped me make good money online.

Google always Did the Right Thing
I personally think that Google has done well in providing quality search result to the users and searchers. I’m sure one of the purposes of Google on changing their ranking algorithm regularly is to provide the best search result (relevant and quality) to the users. Their choose what sites to rank on their first result pages for best keeping and growing their user base and improving the business performance. I have nothing to blame if Google really throws my blog out of top 10.

All Advertisers are Refunded
When my blog disappeared on Google, I have thought about the traffic that I can send to my sponsors who display 125x125 banner ad on my blog. I thought I'm going to be out of top for weeks and not able to generate the amount of traffic (few hundreds of targeted visitors monthly) that I used to generate for them. One of my sponsors has advertised on my blog for more than 4 months. I don’t want to disappoint them, so I made a partial refund to all of them and taken their ads down.

Google Ceased to Send Traffic to Squidoo Pages?

Squidoo has been penalized by Google most likely due to spam on Squidoo pages (lenses). It happened on 7th July, nearly all the Squidoo lenses (pages) that use to rank top 10 were dropped by Google according to an investigation by Tubbynerd.com.

For the past 6 months, Squidoo lenses have been ranking well for different keywords and niches in Google. And most of the owners (lensemasters) get their Squidoo lenses in top 10 without requiring any SEO work and effort. They rank well easily and gain consistent free Google traffic by just picking the right keywords for the title of their Squidoo lenses. This has long discovered by webmasters and online marketers who then used Squidoo as a tool to generate traffic and income by creating a number of lenses in different keywords and niches in the hope that Google will pick some of their lenses for first page ranking.

But now it seems that Google don't like what the Internet marketers have done, probably due to the lack of helpful and quality content in the Squidoo lenses.

Is Squidoo still helpful to Google SEO?
Squidoo is still inside Google index with PR 6 and their pages (lenses) are free for anyone to create in any topics. So it is still a great tool to gain free one way link for Google SEO.

Google Pay-Per-Action Ads Campaign

Google has just announced that advertisers participated in the pay-per-action (PPA) advertising beta can now create pay-per-action campaigns in their AdWords accounts. This is definitely a good news to people who make money online using Google AdWords advertising program although most of them have not been able to test the PPA advertising program now but should have an opportunity to try it once the program gets out of beta. You can read the entire announcement here.

Why advertisers are so happy about Google pay-per-action advertising program?
Google is the largest online advertising company and proven to be generating effective results for advertisers. And now their new pay-per-action advertising is like giving free ads to advertisers. Advertisers who launch a pay-per-action campaign only pay when a visitor taken an action. An action can be a sale, a lead, sign up of any kind of offers and subscriptions, etc depending on the specifications of the advertisers. So it will save a lot of advertising costs for advertisers as they pay for result only.

My personal opinion on how AdSense will be affected by the pay-per-action program
Google clearly stated that the pay-per-actions will appear only in AdSense publishers sites and blogs of their content network. If most of the advertisers is using pay-per-action ads instead of pay-per-click ads in the future, in my opinion this will greatly affect AdSense earning of webmasters and bloggers. I guest that niches that works well in cost-per-action ads all the times will make more money from AdSense, may be a shocking increase in their AdSense. On the other hand, niches that aren't suitable to cost-per-action ads and are currently relying on cost-per-click ads will experience a drop in AdSense in the future.

The Days of Stable Search Results in Google are Over?

Google has changed their ranking algorithm lately and causing obvious fluctuation in search results. A number of websites and blogs are coincidently disappeared in top 10 when the change took place and some of them have sent back to their original position after a few days of the change. This has happened several times in the past 6 months I noticed.

Google Always struggle to help users to get the exact information that they are looking for when searching in Google and avoid anyone to be able to manipulate websites rankings. And Google has recently launched the 'Google Universal Search'. So I guest the recent Algorithm change is related to the new universal search and to meet their goals of providing quality services to the searchers worldwide.

The inconsistency of ranking algorithm is going to give more challenges and works to webmasters and bloggers when doing SEO and makes me a little worry that my blog will be the next one dropped by Google. In the past when someone has achieved top 10, the person can expect to see his/her website stay in top 10 for long period of time. But now, it seems that those days are over.

In my opinion if we want to play the Google SEO game now, we not only need to work hard on SEO to reach at the front page of Google but also continuous SEO effort to maintain top rankings that have achieved.

Also not to forget that content is still the king in Internet. So with relevant and unique content added on a regular basis, you give Google a reason to place your sites or blogs for long.

Google Disallows AdSense Arbitrage

You may have heard a lot about Google bans AdSense accounts for the reason of invalid ad clicks previously. And now Google is taking a further step to close AdSense publishers accounts if Google thinks that the AdSense publishers websites aren't suitable to their AdSense content network. A number of AdSense publishers has reported that they received emails from Google stating that they have an unsuitable business model and their AdSense account will be disabled within 2 weeks. This is a shocking news to me. The affected AdSense publishers will not lose any AdSense revenue as Google will pay all the earning the publishers have earned.

So far there is only emails communication with the involved AdSense published, Google has not officially announced about this matter.

All those affected publishers are either doing AdSense Arbitrage or building sites that are specially for AdSense (MFA sites). AdSense arbitrage means getting traffic/visitors from Google Adwords PPC advertising program to AdSense websites in order to generate AdSense revenue. It is a fast way to make money from AdSense. For 'made for AdSense' (MFA) sites, I think Google is targeting to close MFA sites that are lacking of content.

It seems that fast and easy money cannot be found in AdSense anymore. To work with AdSense for long term, you must provide unique and helpful content to your targeted visitors on your website. Google has said that AdSense is for content. They want to display their AdSense ads on websites with relevant content not websites offer little content and give no value to visitors.

Google Devalues Paid Links

After reading about the paid links issue in Matt Cutts blog and Digitalpoint Forum. It seems that paid links will no longer useful for Google SEO in the future as Google is going to change their ranking algorithm to make sure that paid backlinks will have not effect to Google ranking. Google now tries to figure out how to separate paid links from natural links and they also allow anyone to report paid links to help them distinguish paid links and natural links.

Furthermore, Google will take action against on websites that contains a lot of paid links. And for websites and bloggers that sell text links, here's what Matt Cutts, Head of Google's webspam team advices:

http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/hidden-links
" If you want to sell a link, you should at least provide machine-readable disclosure for paid links by making your link in a way that doesn’t affect search engines. There’s a ton of ways to do that. For example, you could make a paid link go through a redirect where the redirect url is robot’ed out using robots.txt. You could also use the rel=nofollow attribute."

Google will make SEO harder. If you frequently buy paid links to boost your Google ranking and PR, I think you should stop now to avoid your site or blog penalized by Google.

Payments to webmasters and bloggers for a text link appears on their sites and blogs are definitely considered as paid links. For paid directory listings, there are still no clear specifications whether they are seen as paid links. In my opinion, they will not be considered as paid links since Google and Yahoo also have their own directories accepting paid listings. Can we report them paid links? For blog sponsor posts from reviewme.com and Payperpost.com, they are likely to be treated as paid links as well since one of the goals of Google is to stop people from using unnatural backlinks that can artificially boost up their websites ranking. The devaluation of paid links by Google will sure affect the ways webmasters make money online in the future.

To get traffic from Google and make money from your website and blog, I think the best ways now is to make sure the majority of your links are natural, continue to grow natural and relevant inbound links and update your website or blog often with unique and useful content.

AdSense Account Protection Tips from Google's AdSense Blog

Google posted more tips on http://adsense.blogspot.com to help AdSense publishers avoid their AdSense accounts getting banned. Google advices publishers not to optimize their AdSense ads that can lead to accidental clicks by visitors like placing AdSense ads:

  • In close proximity to Macromedia Flash games
  • Under pop-ups or download prompts
  • Near site navigation controls on your pages, such as drop-downs or menu links
If Google detected too many accidental ads clicks that didn't increase the business result of advertisers in an account, then they will disable that account.

I'm a little worry when I first read this post from AdSense blog as I have AdSense ads link near my menu links at the left sidebar. But when I think again and ask myself, will my Ad links placement lead to accidental click? I took a closer look on my blog and website, my ad links look simple and clear. Visitors who click my ad links know who they are clicking. So I think I'm safe.

Google SEO Tips: Content Updating is Getting More Important

Google's ranking algorithm has never been consistent, recently, I discover that the frequency of content updating on blog and website is getting more useful in increasing Google ranking as it uses to be. I think it started about a month ago.

The search term "make money online" is a good example to strengthen my point. If you often use this search term, you'll notice the websites listed in top 10 result fluctuate from time to time. The frequent fluctuations have lead to websites with decent number of backlinks that have stayed in first page for long period of time gradually one by one drop from top 5 to top 10 and from top 10 to top 20; and allowing more blog with frequent content update to get into top 10 listing. I have been in the niche of "make money online" for more than a year and never see it happens this way. It is obvious that Google has changed their ranking algorithm again and place more weight on content.

So if your website have experienced a drop in Google and you think that you have not done anything wrong. The frequency of content updating may be one of the main reasons. You may take a look at your competitors website to see whether they have started adding fresh content often. If yes, you may think about updating your site in on going basis as well. It will give you a better chance in re-gaining your Google ranking.
