Make Money With Adsense

If you want to build residual income on the internet you should look into Google AdSense. The opportunities out there to make money with AdSense offer beginners the best change of building a passive stream of income from the internet. Perhaps the best part about learning to build residual income with AdSense is you can start off small by writing articles on website's that already have prominent search engine placement due to their high page rank, inbound links, and large number of pages.

The disadvantage to this is that all of these article websites that pay members are revenue sharing systems. You get to publish articles on their website that will achieve high search engine rankings because that website is an authority. Then after you get a good understanding of this business model you learn how to build your own website in which you do not have to share revenue.

This is basically article distribution. The only difference is you are writing articles for money instead of links to your website. Websites that you can write articles on and get paid for it are referred to commonly on the web as "paid to write" websites. These types of websites make it easy to build nice looking articles with little to no HTML skills. Then those pages will be indexed by search engines, especially Google and yahoo. They deliver free traffic to your articles and when someone clicks on the ads you get paid for it.

Eventually you can upgrade to building your own website. I did this myself. I started out on Hubpages where you can write articles that get lots of page views. Those articles have Google AdSense ads on them and earn money when search engines deliver free targeted visitors to click on those ads. This is how you make money with AdSense without your own website just to get the hang of it. It wont take long to realize that this business model is quite effective in building residual income and worth learning before you take the time to learn site building.

Once you learn how how to build a search engine friendly website you can use AdSense to create multiple streams of income. The type of AdSense you use on paid article sites is called "AdSense for content". It is for monetizing content pages hints the name. You can also place AdSense ads on RSS feeds, site search results, mobile webpages, and domains. When you have your own website built you will have all these options since you can easily create a site search engine using Google's tools, build a RSS Feed with Feedburner, convert your pages into mobile ones, and you will of course have tons of content pages to place AdSense ads.

Once you complete this you just let your website run on autopilot. You may want to add some things that will increase the amount of residual income that you make such as an autoresponder ecourse that you either charge money for or contains affiliate links that will earn you commissions on products if you do not have your own. Both options are good money makers. Another thing you can do to increase your amount of residual income is incorporate user generated content. You do this by buying software that you can use on your site that will allow site visitors to create their own pages within your site.

Soon your site will double in pages. There is one product that stands alone in this niche. It is called Content 2.0. It is a software product offered by SiteSell for $100 a year. It easily allows site visitors to create their own content pages that will get indexed by the search engines and return significant traffic to your site. The best part is you can make money with AdSense using this product. On each user generated content page small discrete AdSense link units appear. They earn you substantial money and do not appear to be spammy due the little amount of space they take up.

Google AdSense Tips: Formatting Your Content Looks like AdSense Ads is Disallowed

Well, it was a bad news to me. It was a warning from Google AdSense team. They said when they were reviewing my AdSense account they found violations of AdSense policies on my pages such as http://moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com. They then further explained that I cannot implement AdSense ads in a manner that disguises the ads such as formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like games or forum threads. Additionally, images cannot be placed close to the ads. And I was given 3 days to make the necessary changes. If I choose not to make the changes I will no long allowed to display AdSense ads but my account will still remain active.

After finished reading the email, I really feeling worry and confuse. How come I can against so many policies since I have read their policies and add the Adsense ads carefully? This made me headache a while.

I browsed my own pages to find out what really went wrong. I thought back what types of content pages I have created. Fortunately, I managed to figure out and conclude that the violation of AdSense policies is due to some of my content pages formatted to be look similar to AdSense ads.

Once I found out this, I immediately started checking all my pages. I clicked on my own archive pages to review each post and make changes to the posts that disallowed by Google. There are total of 772 posts I have to review and it took about ten hours to review all the blog pages and modify the problem pages. My head is spinning doing all these works.

After three days, I saw my AdSense ads still appear on my pages. So, Google has probably satisfied with the changes I have made and let me continue to make money with AdSense.

Why I'm telling you this?

I hope that you didn't make the same mistake just like I did when implementing AdSense ads on your site and blog to make money online. It is painful to make changes especially if your site have hundreds of pages. It is a tedious work to check back each of your pages.

So, don't format your neighboring content look like AdSense. Google actually spend the time to check AdSense publisher accounts. I think they are checking each publisher account, just don't know whether they are doing the checking manually or automatically.

I'm No Longer Can Make Money Online with AdSense Using This Blog

Early I told you that I was warned by Google AdSense Team that some of my blog posts have been formatted to look like AdSense ads and Google gave me three days to fix that or I'll will not be able to display AdSense ads forever in this blog.

I made the changes and after three days nothing happen, so I must have past that.

But, yesterday, just after 5 minute I published a new post, all my AdSense ads gone. I think the Google AdSense team automatically detected the new post was against their policies, so immediately remove my AdSense ads from this blog. But I swear the post isn't against any of their policies. I then deleted the post to see whether the ads will come back. No, still blank in the space after hours of waiting. I think this simply means I can no longer show AdSense ads on this blog.

AdSense has been a great source of revenue for this blog and I have lost it. I started to thinking to retire this blog. Stop working on it and let the blog falls from No. 1 ranking for the keyword 'make money online'.

Yesterday night doesn't sleep well. Thinking about how to make this blog to generate income in the future as I still get a lot of search engine traffic from this blog. And today morning I finally decided to make some major chances to this blog.

Firstly, I will chance the template of moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com. I have picked a professional template, it is three column and looks better than this one. I will change the template in these coming two days. Then I will focus on private ads selling, leads selling and signing up one to two pay per click programs such Kontera, and etc. May be also selling text links or paid reviews. But, all these new income sources I added in to http://moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com wouldn't be able to replace the income that I used to earn from one Google AdSense program.

Google AdSense is really a powerful money making program. If you get good amount of targeted traffic and optimize the ads well on your site, AdSense will work very well for you.

Using Google Analytics to Increase Your AdSense Income

The quality free website tracking tool, Google Analytics is now integrated with AdSense. This function started to roll out by Google last week. It will soon be available to all the AdSense publishers.

Integrating your AdSense account with a new or existing Analytics account will allow you to get access to more in-depth data so that you can make better decision on improving your AdSense performance.

A great feature that I think it will effectively help publishers to make more money from AdSense is the 'Referring sites' report. It will tell you what source of traffic that earns you the most AdSense revenue. By knowing the sources of traffic that work well with AdSense, you can concentrate on getting the traffic from those sources and see your AdSense income goes up from time to time.

I think this feature is going to be very useful to web publishers especially those bloggers who get lot of traffic and done proper AdSense optimization but still make little AdSense revenue. The reason might be they are not getting the types of traffic good for converting into AdSense. Looking at the data in 'Referring sites' feature, there will know what to do to improve their AdSense performance.

There are also a few other features that can help you.

As the AdSense integration hasn't rolled out fully, you wouldn't be able to have access immediately to this function yet. But keep checking your account for an invitation link. Once you saw the link, You can click it to sign up for starting testing this function.

Making Money with AdSense....Not Until You Got Your Google AdSense Account Approved!

It has been over two years I used AdSense on this blog to make money online. I still remember when I first applied to become a Google AdSense Publisher; I was actually rejected by Google. I got approval only on the second application after I done some changes to the site that I used it to apply AdSense.

And recently my friend started an anti-virus blog, I helped him to send an application to Google for opening an AdSense publisher account and he got his AdSense account approved within 10 hours.

With these experiences, I think I can share some info helpful for you to get your AdSense account approved smoothly and start earning online with AdSense

Getting an AdSense account to approve isn't difficult actually if you know clearly their program policies. Once you have set up your site or blog with content added in, you can read the Google AdSense policies here to see whether your site or blog comply with each of their rules and terms. There is also a set of webmaster guidelines you must adhere as an AdSense publisher.

After reading all Google AdSense program policies and their webmaster guidelines, if it seems that your site or blog doesn't against anything, you may fill out the AdSense sign form to send your application to Google.

There are actually quite a lot to read in Google AdSense policies and Google's webmaster quality guidelines. You may not be able to understand all of them. Checking each rule and guideline take time. So, if you don't have the time to understand totally their policies and guidelines; and making sure you comply everything, here are a few quick tips for you:

Site should be Information-Rich
As Google AdSense program is targeted for content-based website. Your site needs to have a reasonable amount of content. The content must be original and family-friendly. Don't use reprinted articles which already been published on other sites as Google AdSense team will not like it. If it is a blog you are going to use to apply for AdSense, make sure it has at least 5 original posts before applying.

Proper Website Design and Structure
2 column and 3 column layout are best for AdSense content-based website. The site has a clear navigation section for visitors. The navigation text links should be simple and arrange in a manner that easy for users to browse your web pages.

A site map is suggested although it isn't necessary. Do some on-page SEO optimization. Especially the title tag and meta description tag, they should be clearly and accurately describing what your website is about and with your primary keywords included.

Three Don't Do
- Don’t set your site to show pop and pop-up, pop-under when visitors browse your site.
- Don’t create pages with spyware, viruses or adware.
- No hidden text and hidden links in your website.

In the case that your application was rejected by Google AdSense team, Google will reply you with a reason for rejection. Read the reason carefully and review your website. Find the area that against AdSense policies, change it or remove it then reply. You will get the approval if you done the modification accordingly.

My AdSense Site or Blog Doesn't Make Money: What are the Possible Reasons?

Every website and blog are different in term of content, design and structure. However, when it comes to optimizing Google AdSense ads, most of the web publishers and bloggers apply the similar techniques. They have learned and realized that the best location for displaying AdSense ads on their site or blog is probably within the content area. So, they went ahead and placed their AdSense ad units into their content area.

But the result is, no everyone enjoy high click through rate with the similar AdSense optimization technique. Those who have got nice click through rates and made a good AdSense income, congratulation to you! But, for those publishers who still get a poor AdSense performance after implementing the same technique, what is the reason?

Below are a few of the possible reasons why your AdSense site or blog doesn't performance as you expected.

You don't actually get real targeted traffic
When you have generated a lot of traffic to your site but still make tiny little money from AdSense, you will need to look into your traffic. Review your traffic stat to find out where most of your traffic come from. The traffic sources like search engines, off-line marketing, link bait, PPC contextual advertising and video marketing (your links are mentions in different websites and blogs) generally will provide you targeted traffic. If your traffic is from these sources mostly, then traffic probably isn't the reason why your AdSense site didn't perform.

Article marketing also send targeted traffic, but it usually don't work well for Adsense according to my experience.

Other traffic sources like social bookmarking, forum posting and blog commenting can also give you consistent amount of traffic but the problem is these sources often don't send your real targeted traffic. Most of these traffic may be just are those competitors or the friendly web publishers of your niche. The competitors want to know what you are up to and the friendly web publishers want to see the design of your site, your content or make friend with you. These types of visitors seldom convert into AdSense revenue. So, you might need to change your web promotion plan if you face these situations.

However, if you are one of the leading experts in a particular niche, then social bookmarking and forum traffic may be excellent to you. Those web publishers of your niche who directed from social media sites and forums to your site will choose to listen to you than turning themselves to be your competitors because your voice has strong influence in the niche. But, in this case, AdSense still doesn’t work. The best way to make money is to offer them your quality product or service.

The part 1 of this article has focused on explaining the downsides of building many websites to make big money with AdSense. Now this part 2 will answer the question of how many website to build for AdSense and give you the practical tips that will help you effectively make money with AdSense using the content website(s) you have built.

It is suggested that you start with only one content website. The website should focus on topics that you love. You'll know what to write when the topic is of your interest and the content created will offer value to your visitors since you are writing on your favorite topic that you probably have great knowledge in it.

With loads of unique and useful content published on your website, it will attract both the attention of search engines and your targeted visitors. Your quality content can delight your visitors and they may then want to check out your AdSense ads. And another thing, other webmasters who found your good articles and content will want to link to you. This is really a good help in increasing your search engine rankings and traffic.

AdSense Optimization the Right Way
Some proper optimizations are needed when implementing AdSense ads on your site. Certain locations of your website shouldn't be placed with Adsense ads like the header and footer of your website. AdSense click-through rate is proven to be very low in these two locations. The good location for displaying AdSense ads is within the content area. You have a few choices. The first one is inserting your AdSense into the top left or top right of your content. The second way is by adding your AdSense just the end of your content. Take some time to test these two locations. I'm sure you get some good result with AdSense.

There are several AdSense ad formats you can choose for placing on your content. The one that always performs well is the Large Rectangle AdSense ad format. So, it is recommended that you should this ad format. Other settings like the bolder and background of your Ad unit, you should match them with the background of your content pages. If the background of your content pages is white, then you should set your AdSense unit white as well. This is an effective way to increase your AdSense click-through rate.

Targeted Traffic is Gold
The formula to succeed in AdSense is:

Good Content + Effective AdSense Optimization + Consistent Targeted Traffic = Long Term AdSense Income

So, if the targeted traffic is missing, nothing will work. Driving targeted traffic to your website is the toughest challenge to you. You must spend a great deal of time to learn and master the different techniques of traffic-generation. And then put what you learn into action.

SEO is a powerful technique for generating targeted traffic. If you can use it effectively, then you probably will enjoy high AdSense click-through rate and nice steady revenue. But SEO work is tedious and you wouldn't see the result until you waited about three months or more. You need to be patient and thinking positive.

While waiting for the SEO result, you may use the content network advertising like Bidvertiser.com which can send you targeted traffic daily for a cost. Other options such as social media marketing, blog comment posting and guest post on other blogs are worth consider as well because they are traffic-generation techniques that wouldn't cost you a dime.

Once you have got consistent traffic with the techniques you use. You will need to keep on repeat on what you are doing so that your traffic and Adsense income can be maintained and grow from time to time.

Practical Tips for Creating AdSense Websites to Make Money Online

Google Adsense is still one of the most reliable and efficient pay-per-click advertising programs for web publishers to make money on the web. This is because Google has continuously created new features for AdSense and changed the AdSense program policies to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the program.

The web publishers will be able to display content-targeted AdSense ads consistently on their websites and earn a steady income from the ads. The good thing about AdSense is that almost all the technical work is done by Google; the webmasters only need to plan and optimize carefully in order to make their sites compatible with the Google AdSense contextual ads.

Below are some of the tips for building a niche site to effectively make money with Google AdSense ads:

Focus on Publishing Quality Content
Plain content wouldn’t do any good for your niche Adsense site. You need to provide quality and unique content. The kind that your visitors are looking for.

The content will help your readers or entertain your readers and attract other site owners to link to you. The key factors to quality content are relevancy and value.

Setting up a niche website with some content only isn’t enough. Your site has to publish good and helpful content consistently. So, it is necessary to polish up your writing skill and do research on other articles to get good content ideas. This way you will be able to write and post useful content on an on going basis.

Structure Your Website Well
Besides quality content, the way your construct your website is also important. Both your website navigation menu and internal linking structure need to be designed properly. The site’s navigation menu or links should be easy to use so that your visitors can reach the content they want to read quickly and reliably. If your site have sub-topics, you should provide a list of links to all your sub-topics so that the visitors can easily find the information they want.

A well-structured AdSense website can ensure your visitors enjoy a good experience on the site and therefore they will want to stay longer on your site or bookmark it to come back next time.

Comply with Google Adsense Policies
Google keeps on making changes to their AdSense program policies in order to provide the best value to their advertisers. So, there is a need to re-read their program policies in every 1 or 2 months to make sure your site isn’t against any new rule. You may visit AdSense office blog to get the latest update on AdSense program development and policy change.

If you don't meet certain rules, your AdSense account may be suspended by Google and if that happens, all your hard work will be wasted.

Optimize Your Website for AdSense Ads
Seriously, if you don’t know how to effectively optimize your website, you wouldn’t earn much AdSense revenue even your site get massive amount of traffic. You will need to find the good locations of your website for placing AdSense ads. Placing your AdSense ads on the right locations will increase your AdSense Ads click-through rate (CTR) and improve your AdSense earning.

Drive in Targeted Traffic
Quality content plus well website optimization and plus massive amount of targeted traffic will equal to AdSense success. Using AdSense to Make Money Online - Dos and Don'ts

Most people want to use Google AdSense simply because it works. It is an effective Advertising network that can help you make a lot of money online because it delivers CPC ads that are highly targeted to the content of your website and blog.

Google AdSense is a quality contextual advertising network and they did have a set of rules and policies to help maintain the quality and integrity of their AdSense program. No following the rules and policies could result your AdSense account being suspended. Below are the dos and don’ts when using AdSense:

Dos
- Post a privacy policy on your sites. Few weeks ago Google updated their AdSense terms and conditions with one new requirement that all publishers must have a privacy policy posted on all their AdSense sites to advice visitors specifically about cookies and web beacons. Don't worry if you don't know how to create a privacy policy as Jensense.com has prepared a sample that anyone can use.

- Read the program policies and the terms and conditions completely. This is to make sure you don't against any of the AdSense rules.

- Read AdSense forums, blog and articles so that you can learn from others’ experiences and mistakes.

- Learn how to optimize your AdSense ads to achieve high CTR. Test and experiment different type of optimization methods to achieve the best AdSense performance. Realize it takes time and work to see result.

- Never ask your friends and family members to click on AdSense ads. Rather, make money by recommending them to join Google Adsense program.

- Don’t participate in Google Adsense program strictly for fast money. AdSense isn't a get-rich-quick program. Focus on building quality content site and blog to make AdSense works well for you.

- Don't particapte your AdSense site in traffic exchange and auto surf programs as these programs can get your AdSense closed by Google.

- Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything the first day. Google Adsense program is user-friendly, take some time to learn it and you will soon understand and be familiar on the different aspects of AdSense.

Hopefully, these tips will ease you when using AdSense and help you avoid mistakes that could possibly lead to you account being terminated.

Minor Changes to AdSense Ads but Affect Publishers Earning Directly

I've been notified by Joel Comm today that Google has made a little changes to their AdSense ads to reduce the number of accidental clicks of AdSense ads.

AdSense Contextual ads consists of four elements:

  • A title
  • A description
  • An URL and
  • A backgroud (the surrounding areas for the ads)
Before the changes, the visitors can click any of the above elements of the AdSense ad to visit the advertiser site. But after the new changes, visitors can now only reach the advertisers sites by clicking only the title or the URL of the ads, the ad description and the surrounding areas of the ad can no longer be clicked. I pointed my mouse to Joel's AdSense ads when reading his blog this morning. Yes, it is true, the description and the background are no longer clickable.

Now the question is will this new changes affect the revenue of the AdSense publishers. I believe they will. Probably a very small part of AdSense earning of many publishers are coming from accidental clicks of AdSense ads by visitors. So with this new changes took place, the publishers may experience a very little drop of AdSense. And so publishers shouldn't worry about this new changes as they will not obstruct you from earning more from AdSense. As long as you grow your traffic, you'll get more AdSense revenue as usual.

Tools for Making Money with Adsense

If you're just boarding on the AdSense train, and looking to find a quick way to make the profits you've seen all being pulled of all over the Internet, you might be interested in a couple of tools.

These software tools are designed to aid AdSense publishers in getting a better understanding on how traffic flows through their site. Some will help you in understanding which keywords gain you more money and which locations give you the best AdSense payment.

One of the useful tools available is AdSense Gold (http://www.profitbooks.com/go/astracker) which allows you to have a better understanding of which ads and formats actually get more clicks and which are useful or nearly useless.

This program works by tracking views and clicks on all the publisher's pages. It even goes as far as offering you the possibility to see which referrer each visitor came in through.

There's a free tool called SynSense (http://www.singerscreations.com/RSS/Posts/235.asp) which is more of an AdSense monitoring tool. This sits in the tray and offers actualized AdSense stats as you hover your mouse over its icon. It's a very nice tool for those which like to be informed on how their AdSense is doing at all times of the day.

Google provides you with stats in a csv format on their site. So someone made a tool that can automatically download such files and extract a lot of information from them. The name of this tool is CSV AdStats and it is available from http://www.nix.fr/en/csvadstats.aspx?q=download

It has a large number of features, including the possibility to highly customize reported stats, exporting data and charts to other formats. It's in French but the language can very easily be changed to English.

Of course any tool can only access these stats as often as 15 minutes but the authors are well aware of that fact and none of these tools will get you in trouble with Google because of that.

If, however, you're browsing content most of the time, and your tool of choice is the Firefox Internet browser, there's an extension for this program that allows you to view the stats in your status bar.

Again, this software is aware of Google's 15 minute rule and enforces its usage, 15 minutes being the minimum time between updates. The Google AdSense notifier for Firefox can be obtained from http://code.mincus.com/?p=3

So as you can see, software developers are making more and more programs meant to help you in your quest to maximize your AdSense profits. But before you go out looking for them remember that Google has a few features of its own as well.

It does offer some reports (albeit a bit more limited) and using the 'channels' feature is a good way of finding out which ads on your site are really bringing in most of the revenue.

Be on the look out as new tools appear daily and make sure to invest time in your site, as that is the real key in success with AdSense.

AdSense Upcoming Feature: Make Changes to Ads without Replacing Code

AdSense Blog has posted a good news about Google AdSense program today. In the coming weeks, Google AdSense will be launching a new feature allowing publishers to manage their AdSense ad units inside their AdSense account.

With this new feature, you will be able to change your AdSense ad units (such as colors, channels and borders) that display on your site or blog within your AdSense account. This mean that you'll no longer need to copy and paste your AdSense code to your pages every time you made changes to your AdSense setting (colors, channels and borders). All you need is few clicks of mouse inside your account and you'll see your ads changes take place on your site or blog.

The new feature is created to help save your time and let you optimize your AdSense ads more easier. As mentioned in AdSense blog, the feature will be rolling out in phases in the next few weeks and another post will be updated at that time to explain how to use the feature.

Google Gadget Ads - New Type of AdSense Ads for Publishers

Google yesterday introduced gadget ads to AdSense publishers in their AdSense blog. Google said that these gadget ads are designed to be more interactive and engaging to web visitors.

As Google Gadget ads are too new, you will not see them appear in AdSense publishers blogs and websites yet. But you can see how they look like at Google AdSense Blog and Google Gadget Ads Center. Here are an example of Google Gadget ads:

As you can see the above Nissan gadget ad is so different from the traditional online ads that contain only catchy title and description. The gadget ads intends to provide helpful details (traffic details for an area) to the targeted visitors, making the gadget ad useful and attractive to visitors. so the launch of Gadget ads may be able to help AdSense publishers to improve their AdSense performance.

Setting up Google Gadget ads on your blog or website is pretty easy. All you have to do is opt in to image ads, use one of the image ad formats and you are ready to display Gadget ads. However Google can't guarantee that gadget ads will show on your site even though you have opted in to image ads.

2 Easily Violated AdSense Policies

I have read Google AdSense Policies several times and I have to admit that I am not a good reader. Today Sushith from http://brokencodes.blogspot.com commented on my blog stating that I have made an AdSense mistake by placing a label "Topics" above an AdSense ads link unit. After reading this comment I quickly went to www.google.com/adsense to read again the AdSense policies. And yes, Google doesn't mention about label. Here's what Google said:

Publishers participating in the AdSense program may not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled "Sponsored Links" but not "Favorite Sites"

Well, it seems that Sushith is right. I have made an AdSense mistake that can lead to my account being disable. So I decided to remove the "topic" label placed at the top left sidebar of this blog to comply AdSense policies fully.

You may have spent a hard time optimizing your AdSense ads to make the most money from AdSense. But if you use label with AdSense ads, you can only label "Sponsored Links" above the AdSense ads or link unit.

Another AdSense mistake that is easily made by AdSense publishers is placing AdSense ads in second level domain names that contain the word "Google". Some of the example of second level domain names that use Google are:
