How to Build Your Email List with Give Away Event

List building is critical for the success of an online business. Whether you are selling your own products or other people products (affiliate product) on the Internet, building a email list would mean building a loyal customers base that will often do business with you.

Most people who run business online realize the importance of list building and using numerous advertising campaigns to grow their list. One of the low cost and powerful marketing methods for list building that was started to use in the last couple of years has become hot recently. This list building method is recognized as "Give Away Event”.

How Give Away Event Works?
Give away events are generally used for the Internet marketing and online business niches. One person started a give away event and invites other Internet marketers to become his/her joint venture (JV) partners. Each participating partner will contribute one or more gifts to the event. The gift may be a free e-book, a report, a membership access, a tool, software, or a set of website templates. All the gifts are products related to Internet marketing.

The participating partners create a Lead Capture Page or a squeeze page to give his/her gift in exchange for the subscriber’s email address. In other words, in order for a visitor to download a free gift, he/she must first opt in and subscribe to your mailing list.

The result: The give away event will attract many visitors and most of the visitors will sign up to download the free products they are interested. And every partner gets the change to build their list.

How to Use Give Away Event to Build Your List?
You can set up your own give away event, upload your gifts, then invite JV partners to submit their gifts and finally promote your event to get visitors to download the gifts inside your event.

You'll get the email addresses of all the visitors who join your event since visitors have to first register to become a member of your event before they can see what products they can obtain free. And you will want to direct them to a one-time offer page before sending them to their member area. This is a sale technique most people use to boost their sales and profit. A successful give away event can crank out more than 10k of profit after the end of the event.

However, running your own event will cost you quit a lot of money. You need to pay few hundred dollars to set up a give away membership site so that people can visit your event and sign up to get the gifts they like.

You need to spend time finding your JV partners. If you are new in Internet marketing, then this will be a tough task to you. But if you have been in the Internet marketing industry for some years, getting JV partners will be easier as other marketers may have heard about your name. They will trust you and interested to join your event.

If setting up a give away event is too expensive and tough to you then you may go for the free option, which is becoming a participating partner of one or more give away events.

Participating in a give away program is pretty simple. All you need to do is find a give away event; register to become a contributor and you will be then taken to your member area to upload your gifts and other necessary details. Once the event goes live, visitors will join your mailing list to get your gifts.

You will not be able to find a give away program that hasn't gone live by yourself. What you can do is let the give way event JV partner invitation email come to you by joining a number of existing Internet marketing marketers mail lists. Whenever there is a give away event started, some of these Internet marketers will be informed and they will then send the event details to you too so that you can participate in the new event also.

15 Tips to Help You Succeed in Email Marketing

Whether your online business is selling your own developed products or marketing affiliate products to earn sales commission, you have to work hard to connect with your potential customers or target prospects. One of the fastest and cheapest ways to communicate with your potential customers on the Internet is through email.

You can gather your potential customers email addresses by offering something free on your website to entice your potential customers to sign up your offer and give you their email addresses.

Once you got their email addresses, you will start connecting with them often to build up a good relationship and make your propects be familiar with you. This will build up trust and credibility within your email subscribers. And when you have done that, you can expect to make some sales every time you send out a sale email to them.

Writting effective and successful email does require skill and knowledge. You need to know exactly how to write that email that will get people to open and read and get your prospects to take the action that you want them to take. Knowing when to send it also matters.

Below are 15 tips to help you out with your sales emails:

1. Many research have been conducted to find out the best day to send email and the result showed that Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best days.

2. The word 'testing' is important in email marketing. You should always test your email before sending it. First, use a spell checker, then a spam checker, and finally, email it to yourself before you send it to anyone else.

3. Use targeted marketing methods when growing your email list to ensure that those who opt-in to your email list are your target prospect. It is worthless to send email to people who have no interest on what you offer or on your website topic.

4. Research found that people read a message approximately seven times before they will purchase something. So Don’t just recommend your product once – recommend it a few times.

5. Never send out more than one email per day. Depending on what audience you have, you may want to set to send email once or twice per week. At the same time, you don’t want your audience to forget about you. So never let more than a week pass by without connecting your audience.

6. You may send out old offers to your new email subscribers, as long as the messages that you write are not ‘time specific.’ This will allow you to keep profiting from your old emails over and over again, as long as they are still related. Make sure that you keep those old emails clean, and remove sales emails for products that are no longer selling.

7. Your email will look more interesting and professional if you use HTML. However, A lot of email clients either don’t accept HTML email, or the email subscribers have set their client to refuse HTML. So for best result, it is best to stick with plain text.

8. Make thing simple to avoid confusing your audience. In each email, there should only be one of two actions to take. First, they can take the action that you desire, and second, they can close the email and take no action at all. Those should be the only two options.

9. Links will be included in your email body, so make sure the link you added in your email message is clickable. In most cases, the receivers will see a clickable link if you typed in a URL in your plain text email message.

10. Many people use web based email. You should too, for testing purposes. Test your email in different browsers, including Internet Explorer, FireFox, Netscape, and Opera. All of these browsers are free, and you can test them with any free email account.

11. You email message shouldn't be a direct sales offer as people don't like to be sold to. Make sure that the verbiage you are using is not a hard sales pitch.

12. You will want your propects to like and trust you. So make sure not all of your emails are designed to generate a sale. Try to send them valueable info that help them out solving their problems and refer them to free and useful resources, as opposed to always referring them to products that they must buy.

13. You want your readers to feel like they are your friends. In some of your emails, you should refer to real personal details about your life. This can be anything from referring to something cute your kid did to an interesting, somehow related, conversation you had with your wife. Mention your family members by name.

14. Avoid abbreviations, including ‘cyber terminology.’ While such things are fine in personal email to your friends, it really isn’t appropriate if you hope to build a personal relationship with prospects. Some people have no idea what those abbreviations mean.

15. Pay attention to how other people’s sales emails affect you. Open your email client, download your mail, and record your thoughts regarding what you were thinking or feeling as you read each sales email. This is a really enlightening exercise.

Email marketing is a world of its own, and the concepts that work and do not work are changing continuously as users become more knowledgeable. Be sure that you keep up with the latest email marketing techniques and strategies, and be willing to test new things. But, when you do test new things, only send the ‘test’ email to part of your list – not the whole list – to see how it works out.

The Right Content for Your Email Marketing

Email marketing may include sending email advertisements to a large distribution list, publishing and distributing an e-newsletter and sending informative emails with a soft sell approach to encourage recipients to make a purchase or visit your website. Whether you opt to utilize one or all of these email marketing techniques, you will be faced with one specific dilemma and that is writing the content which will appear in these emails. This is critical because these emails may be the first impression potential customers are receiving for your products and services. Superior content will give the potential customers a good first impression which may make them more likely to purchase your products or services. This article will discuss some proven techniques for ensuring the content you use in your email marketing campaign will reap the maximum benefits.

The importance of hiring a professional writer to assist you in your email marketing campaign cannot be stressed enough. It is one of the most critical elements to the success of your campaign. You may be a decent writer or you may have a staff member who you think can do a good job creating the content for your email marketing but unless you or your staff member is a professional writer by trade, the quality of the work will likely not be of the same quality as a professional can produce. This can be very damaging especially if your competitors are hiring writers to create their content. Your emails will likely not be viewed as favorably as the emails written by professionals.

The content you decide to include in your email marketing efforts is largely a matter of personal preference but there are some methods which have traditionally been more successful than others. The type of content which may be effective often includes informative articles, short useful tips, links to relevant websites, advertising for complementary products and even some subtle forms of advertising which are meant to persuade the recipients of the email to either make a purchase or visit your website.

Full length insightful articles which are likely to be of interest to the members of your email distribution list are an excellent idea for your email marketing campaign. These articles are a good idea because they will likely contain information which the recipients of your email will appreciate. Additionally, these articles give you the opportunity to include information about your products or services in the copy of the email. This can be a subtle form of advertising when it encourages the recipients to purchase a product or service or visit the website without actually asking the recipient to do so.

Short product reviews can also be very useful and helpful when you include them in your email marketing campaign. These reviews can help to attract a great deal of attention especially when the reviews focus on the products you offer and provide favorable reviews for these products. This type of information can either be subjective in nature or can remain objective by simply specifying the features of the products and offering other concrete pieces of information as opposed to opinions of the products.

Advertising is often a quite important part of an email marketing campaign. This advertising may either be direct or indirect in nature. Direct advertising may include banner ads or other graphical advertisements which encourage website visitors to click through the link to reach either your website or a sponsor’s website. Indirect advertising may apply to content in the copy of featured articles which subtly encourage visitors to make a purchase or visit your website. The indirect marketing in an email marketing campaign is usually supporting the products or services you offer while direct marketing will likely promote products and services offered by sponsors who paid to receive advertising space on the email. Email recipients are usually well aware these graphics are part of an advertisement and will choose to click on these links when they have an interest in the products or services being offered.

Internet Business Promotion: Email Marketing Tips and Strategies

Many people are of the opinion that we have reached the end of the road where email marketing is concerned. The reason for this is because of the issues with the delivery, spam filters etc. Certainly, marketing may not be as problem free as it was a few years ago, but it still works great if only you have a proper game plan and some tools.

Here are some strategies that will be helpful in your email marketing. There are various types of email campaigns. My sincere advice would be never to buy leads and send emails. Your ISP may even shut you down if spam is reported.

Strategy of One Shot
There are several FFA sites on the net today that allow ad posters to post their ads for free. In return for this, they will get one email from every FFA owner. The best solution is to own your own FFA page. They may cost around $10 per month. You will be able to email hundreds or even thousands of people in a single day. You are given only one shot, but if your email ad is good and you offer people a free report or something, you can get them to opt-in to your autoresponder and build a decent list.

Autoresponder series
Using an autoresponder series is one great way of setting up an email marketing campaign. But this is possible only if you have a way of leading people to your webpage with the autoresponder opt-in form. You can achieve this by either using the above-mentioned FFA method or by writing articles and submitting to directories. If you have a link in your signature, people will click on that and reach your opt-in page. Once that is done, keep sending them follow up messages selling them your product.

Newsletter, ezine, or course
The most important thing that can be achieved through an email campaign is projecting yourself as an expert. Sending out newsletters or ezines is a great way of showing your expertise and gaining their trust. This helps in several ways. You can promote affiliate programs, your own products or services easily without blatant marketing. People will open your emails because you are providing them with useful information.

Subject lines
Email marketing works essentially by grabbing the attention of the reader with the written words. First thing that the reader will look at is the subject line. This should be attention grabbing. Even if your ad and email are great, if the subject is bad, people are not even going to read the email. The best way to understand what is interesting is by checking the emails you receive everyday. I am sure all of us have seen subjects that are so attractive that we are tempted to open the email.

Email ad
The main matter in the email should be extremely well structured. Start with an introduction, then write about the main product, and then conclude by calling to action. We see many emails where people go on and on endlessly and that irritates us that we don’t want anything to do with that person.

Branding
Creating a ‘brand’ of yourself is of utmost importance. Branding means making people identify you for what you stand for and creating images in their mind. Let me tell you, this is a golden tip, and would help you to concentrate on this. There are several times people pay more for certain products, it’s not only because the product is better than it’s competitors, it’s also because the sellers have created a great image of themselves in people’s minds that suggests trust and interest.

You can achieve this by letting your emails have a lighthearted touch, paying attention to the fonts and graphics. The tone of your email must be very friendly as if you only care about them and can also be humorous, depending on what you are promoting.

Best day and time for email campaign
Surprising but true. The success of your email campaign also depends on the day you send it out. Let me begin with giving you the worst days of the week that you should NOT send out your email campaigns. Saturday and Sunday. Statistics show that on those two days, emails hardly get opened. Back to the main question of when to send. The best day is said to be Tuesday, next comes Wednesday, and may be even Thursday.

Is there a best time too? Sure, there is. It should be either in the early morning or late evening. This is because people check their mails as soon as they get to work. Late evenings may be because people check again before leaving work or after getting back home. Makes sense right? Most people after dinner are either watching American Idol or spending family time together. Computer is not where they want to be.

Spam and Filters
Never ever send unsolicited email to anyone. This is the most important tip of email marketing. Send emails to people who have opted in through your autoresponder and want you to send them information.

Even if you do not have any intention of spamming people and send emails to only those that have opted-in, your emails may not be delivered due to spam filters used by most ISPs. Since these filters do not know if yours is a spam mail or not, they basically check the word you use in the subject line and in your emails. These filters make mistakes with words and brand yours as spam. There are several free sites that will check the email for spam and score it. If the score is below 2 is safest, and between 2 and 5 is borderline and above 5 is considered to be spam.
